Seychelles - Mahé, Praslin, La Digue

I always had this idea in my head that the Seychelles ranked place two after the Maldives when it comes to honeymoon destinations.

In October 2025 we nevertheless decided to give three islands a try: Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.

It was another trip where I could let the pictures speak for themselves.  Best weather,  best beaches, friendly people ... a bit too hot for long hikes, but some beaches were only accessible through forest or along shore walks, but with the goal in mind, being a pleasant dip in the ocean and some snorkeling, it was always bearable.

La Digue involved some bicycle rides which helped slow down the pace. The ideal way to explore the small island.

We visited a small coconutfarm on Mahé where we bought fragranced body oil,  tried some Takamaka Rum at the distillery, stopped at a tea factory,  searched for coco de mer palm trees in the lush vegetation of Glacis Noire Nature Trail, spotted a chameleon and a black parrot, took a tumble in the massive waves at Anse Intendance and swam with a turtle at Anse Lazio.

We couldn't remember spending a more relaxed vacation than this one, hanging out at various beaches until boredom kicked in.

Were there any downsides? Not really... well, one was my own fault when my cell phone took a dip in the ocean as the snorkeling bag was not waterproof and secondly we weren't to keen on several dozens of aunts roaming one of our accommodations. Other than that 10 out of 10.

The return flight included a two night and full day stopover in Abu Dhabi, perfect to see the city and Great Mosque.
