After a while in the rough south with it's pure and vivid surroundings, it was time for a change... the northern part of Argentina.
Instead of blue, green and grey colors, the predominant colors were beige and brown. Houses made of clay, dirt roads, rock formations, dry air and altitudes between 2200 and 4300 m above sea level.
The friendliness of the locals and the colorful goods sold at the handicraft markets made up for the pale surroundings. The scenery was stunning and exceptional. Huge cactuses, salt lakes, exciting mountain passes, wild animals, old cars which you wouldn't see back home, empanadas y tortillas fresh off the fire grill, taking everything slow to not be out of breath, enjoying sunsets and the unpolluted night sky.
