Summer holiday time with my significant other, yet no clue where to go. Seen that, been there, not warm enough, too expensive, Covid restrictions, rainy season, ...
So the search included Ireland, Costa Rica, Thailand, Alaska and I cannot even remember what else. The good part: There was always a back up plan being a road trip through Austria, Slovenia and Croatia and that is exactly what it came down to.
This might sound like a lousy plan b, but that was definitely not the case. The trip included everything from hiking and driving through lovely, changing scenery to snorkeling in the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, 2500 km, mostly good weather, super delicious ice-cream and a loooot of freedom.
