Hellas 🇬🇷

Two weeks in Greece. First week Santorini followed by Corfu. The islands are rather different.

...Santorini all seems to be white and blue, a constant north wind, dry landscape, the only green seemed to be vinyards.
...While the tourist hot spot is the city of Oia, famous for its blue domed churches and picture perfect sun sets, the rest of the island is rather laid back and the old villages with narrow streets are ideal to stroll.
...The west coast is all cliffs or better said caldera overlooking the Santorini volcano.

...Corfu is a lot greener, a lot bigger, with more moskitos but also many pretty butterflies.
...The turquoise waters are stunning both from inside and outside the water.
...It was a bit hotter with temperatures between 30 and 35 °C.
...The size offers a lot to explore and if the heat strikes too hard, there is always a beach or a pool to cool off.
...The roads are often narrow, bumpy, steep and winding...and sometimes all of it at the very same time.

Bottom line: perfect summer holiday.

Low-light: gas prices, cheapest found on Corfu: 2.39 Euro per liter. Santorini prices exceeding 2.60 Euro per liter.

First timers for me: Cannonball and jumping head first in the pool (#never too old). Snorkeling seeing an octopus.
