Half Way

Day 8: 0 km - just rest and relax
Day 9: Oia 》 Mougas - 10 km
Day 10: 》 Nigrán - 12 km

We took our first day off. Our feet were swollen, stiff and tired. We took care with alternating hot and cold showers and simply sat down all day. The quiet little village of Oia was the perfect place to rest and cool our feet in the Atlantic ocean.
Even though day 9 was a short piece of Camino only, it was the hottest so far. While along the Portuguese coast we sometimes had a bit too much of (head) wind, we could have used some that day. In addition, most part of the way was along the road.
Luckily our accommodation at the Camping Mougas had an outdoor pool to cool down 😄.
We have meanwhile mastered approximately half the Camino. The landscapes and paths keep changing and it seems as if we still need to get used to the Galician people, language, food and prices. While I miss the Pastel de Nata, my mum is longing for the Portuguese cafe abatanado.
Meeting other pilgrims along the way is still rather an exception. It's rather animals we meet and greet 😀
