To get to our hotel in Marysville, we took a little detour through the Cathedral Range State Park. To stretch our legs we walked the Canyon Track towards Sugarloaf Peak. It soon became more of a rock climbing tour which is why I did not make it to the top.
We were surprised to find many houses and community places in Marysville to look rather new and soon found out that approximately 90% of the town's houses were destroyed in the 2009 fire.

Interesting fact:
If you are lucky you might see a Lyrebird in this area. They are most notable for their superb ability to mimic natural and artificial sounds from their environment. Go check out a video on the web. It's unreal.
